When we are immersed in such a fast paced society, it is all too easy to forget that a marriage involves love, some trials, and a lot of patience in order for it to grow to its fullest capacity.
I really like the analogy of comparing a marriage to a rose bud. It takes sunshine and rain for a beautiful rose to grow to its fullest beauty. The sunny days give you hope—these are the days when the young flower is showing its radiant color. The rainy days might make the rose soggy or not as appealing, but it requires both sunshine and rain for a beautiful rose to grow strong, healthy, and beautiful. If it is raining, and the rose becomes less than what you had hoped for, do not throw it away. Wait for the sunny days. Patience is key.

“Give it up. Detach. Let there be nothing in your life that you’re attached to that interferes with Christ. Each of us has something in our lives that we struggle with letting go. Something in our past. Something in our present. Our hopes and dreams for the future that are not God’s plans for our future. If we can’t detach from things it’s going to be very difficult to truly follow Christ and give Him everything.”
If you truly love her, your deepest desire will be to protect her mind, body, heart, and (most importantly) soul. If you truly love her, you will care for her as both a human being and as a friend. If you truly love her, you will not only know what is best for her, but you will DO what is best for her.
Treat her like the treasure that she is.
